God's Tears

God weeps
a single tear descends
into matter's pool

Creates--
in the womb of faith
a Prophet is conceived--

The bull's eye that
generates ripples in time.

Ripples that move
away from their nativity;

ripples that slow
with the speed of centuries

Until
dogma's sedimentation
deposits a religion's layer.

God weeps
another tear descends

another manifestation
is conceived;

and another bull's eye generates
ripples in time.

Ripples that move
from their nativity;

depositing
layer by layer
the records of God's tears.
