Winter Poem

Feel the frustration,
the lack of inspiration
on a cold winter morning
when aching joints wake
screaming for warmth.

Wrap your hands
around a hot cup of coffee
giving your fingers
and their joints hope
that spring is on the way.

Once your fingers are warmed up,
and you can hold a prayer book
it's time to pick the rose
of God's love
and intone a prayer of gratitude.
