Prorogue

Events of Brexit intrigue, the prorogation
of parliament by the queen, found unlawful in court,
stalled action and halted talks. Decisions must be made
by the end of October; time ticks on and out.

prorogue - the putting off for a time

Apparently, according to the UK Constitution, only the monarch can prorogue parliamentary action. This was challenged in the courts, the UK court said it was lawful, the Scottish court said it was unlawful. Therefore it went to the UK Supreme court and was found unlawful. It seems the UK Constitution is being challenged in this Brexit confusion.
