The Assignment

Anointed before I was born,
assigned to serve, today.
The calling from the oil-filled horn
to each I must obey.

Go through the daily for the new.
The tasks of now are best.
Before the Lord to ever bow
I'll meet each daily test.

To miss the job so long ago
is not the end of the story.
To draw the child to fully know
is all for His Own Glory.

The convert in the wilderness
will not prevent the crowd be saved.
Just speak to those the Lord will bless
no more they'll be just lost, depraved.

Reset your hopes upon the Lord.
His call to do your job today.
Assignments in the living Lord
are what He'd cause us live, obey.
