Poet's Time1

I'm on poet's time,
I spend the midnight hours
in silent meditation.

I'm on poet's time!
I lay awake listening
for the approach of inspiration.

I'm on poet's time,
sleep is a distant memory
until my muse has returns
with stanza and line.

          ...for fresh brewed coffee on this beautiful autumn morning.
          ...that my Vindale Research account has $2.14 in it.
          ...for the orange slices I had as my morning snack.
          ...that I received a merit badge today.
