Prompt: Write about a grandparent."

I always wondered what my grandma was like. There were no pictures of her and she was dead before I ever was thought of. I never met her. I hear she could be pretty mean, but in that day and age parents were very strict. I also hear she was probably an alcoholic. I know she was killed in a vehicle accident, alcohol involved. I may not wanted to have met her, but I would still like to have known. I always felt cheated in that respect. I know that someday I will get to know her, but I would have liked to have known her during her life.

Paul Tournier
What do you think about this quote, and what kinds of situations force us to keep secrets? Then, are all our secrets necessary?"

I don't know what prompts most people to keep secrets. I would imagine people keep secrets because they are afraid they will be made known. It works for me anyway. I do believe some secrets should be kept. Military secrets exist to keep information out of the wrong hands for example. There are good secrets then there are bad ones.
