A Slightly Better Yesterday

I thought ten paragraphs a day was going to be the average for my Water Wars movie Treatment. And it has been a lot. But not yesterday. True, it was only two more at twelve. But two is better than none. Besides, one of those was an establishing Shot. So, it was more like I did eleven even though Establishing Shots are also paragraphs. They are just three lines long instead of four, five, or six.

Why did I only get twelve paragraphs written yesterday? The normal answer to that question is work. And in a way, it was work this time too. but overall it wasn’t work. The reason why I wrote that it was sort of because of work is that the sun was out for almost the first half of my shift. It wasn’t supposed to be sunny until about an hour and a half until the end of my first half. And even then, it was supposed to be only partly sunny. But it wasn’t.

It was sort of right the last hour and a half for the last part of the first half of my shift. But the first two hours were pure sunny. Which means I had to do my writing from the back of my post shack. And that is very hard to do. It can be done. but it’s harder to do. True, it didn’t stop me from writing that much. But it did slow me down a little bit.

The sun wasn’t the only thing that slowed me down, though. Especially, the last four hours. But like the sun, it was work-related. What am I writing about? It’s the orange cone that keeps me going outside every time there is work to be done. True, this was a typical Saturday. And it wasn’t very busy at all. But it was busy enough to keep me going outside a lot. Which I wouldn’t have to do quite so often if it wasn’t for that orange cone.

Today is Sunday. And that usually means it’s only slightly busier today than it was yesterday. I’m hoping that is going to be true today. If it is, I may get a little more than ten to twelve paragraphs written for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. Then again, I may be lucky if I get ten written today. After all, it’s supposed to be partly cloudy all afternoon. Which probably means it’s going to be very sunny during the first half of my shift. I hope that isn’t true. But even if it is true I’m going to get as much writing as I can today
