Why Do I Write?
Each writing comes as breathing must.
The lungs cannot contain the air.
Exchange is what the mind can trust.
The good receives, the bile it pares.

The writing comes as the beat of the heart.
It flows throughout each living vein.
New life each day it will impart.
Brings sustenance as the flowing rain.

As the tongue of taste will fill tummy bare,
the writer's light will soon tap the core.
An empty hand will make eyes to stare,
but a pen-filled palm has Hope to store.

To write brings joy to the daily walk.
To write releases pent-up dross.
To write brings our thoughts to the world to talk.
To write brings sinners to the cross.

To write for readers is the goal.
To write that readers will find a new way.
To write to heal some readers whole
is the best, that my writing could display.
