Pandemic

Panic is a normal human reaction
to the unknown,
and has nothing to do with media hype.

We live in a world
that is so interconnected
the artificial borders between nations
cannot protect us
from the misery or the diseases
of our fellow human beings.

Panic indicates
a lack of control
or a perceived lack of control

Five horseman--
death,
war,
famine,
pestilence,
and terrorism--
gallop across the planet
fanning the flames of xenophobia,
and segregating humanity
into walled camps.
