A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
A Slightly Different Change Don’t panic. I’m not starting over from scratch when it comes to my Water Wars scriptwriting project and the single paragraph part of my Outlines and Treatments. But I am going to be starting to do something slightly different with my single paragraphs, though. It’s hard to write how many paragraphs that I got written at work yesterday. I ended with ten. But before I did those ten re-writes, I wrote six. So, in a way, I did write sixteen paragraphs by the end of my shift yesterday. I just did them in two different time frames. What am I trying to write about? After I finished the next six paragraphs, I looked at them. and I had a feeling that they were going to fit in the four-or-five-line paragraphs that I wanted for these Outlines. My treatments are between three to six lines. Depending on whether they are scenes or Establishing Shots. But my Outlines are either three for my Teaser and Tag Acts and four or five for my regular Acts. After thinking about it, I thought that I figured out my problem. So, I did some figuring. That’s when I re-wrote the first ten paragraphs. but after doing that, I realized that I was right the first time. I just needed to figure out the characters-per-written-line a little bit. Which I think I have done. My lines-per-paragraph wasn’t my only problem, though. It was just my main one. I also have a problem with telling instead of showing. It’s not as big of a problem when it comes to scripts than it is with short stories. But it is still a problem. I’m getting better at it. I still have a long way to go, though. Today, I’m going to start working on my single paragraphs again for my movie Outline for this project. I don’t know how many paragraphs I will get written. But I should get about twenty written. That’s two per hour. That is write. I’m working a couple of hours OT today. So, I should get at least a few more written. That’s why I’m writing and posting this blog entry now. The two hours of OT is at the beginning of my shift. It’s usually at the end. But this time it’s at the beginning. I don’t know how many paragraphs I’m going to get done today. But I’m hoping to get at least twenty of the written. I’m hoping to get a lot more of them written. But being a Friday, I doubt that I will get that many more written. I may be lucky if I can get twenty of them done.
