A story of an outcast sleddog who finds a new purpose with a village boy and a big race.
Think of it as Toy Story for the sport of mushing. Told from the point of view of the sled dog, this short story will answer the question - 'Why do they do it?' - Why would any animal sleep naked in the snow, eat raw meat, and run their hearts out? What makes them do this?

Yes, I loved the movies 'Eight Below' and 'Snow Dogs,' but there is so much more to it! This story is about the danger of it all, the traditions, the art of teamwork, the science of the sport, the antiquity of it's origin, and the sprit that guides both dog and driver over the trail.

The story tells of Cooper, a sleddog, and his adventures as he is outcast from the only home he's ever known. He shares a chance meeting with Kino, a village boy, and the two form a bond as only two kindred spirits can. Kino, Cooper, and the rest of the team race in the Kodiak Trail challenge, facing bitter arctic storms, dangerous ice covered lakes, and angry wild animals. Through it all, they both learn the importance of trust and teamwork, perserverance, and the heritage that shapes their destiny. Though each from different worlds, Kino and Cooper are changed forever from their adventures on the Kodiak Trail.
