| Do you believe you need to know sadness in order to appreciate happiness? It's not a matter of needing to know sadness in order to appreciate happiness. It's more a matter of experiencing sadness that this world will throw at you and learning that "this too shall pass." Then when good comes around and you are happy, you can know that "this too shall pass", which breeds the appreciation for the happier times in your life. Okay that's it for waxing philosophical.
