| Prompt: The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and then... Finish this sentence with a story or poem. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and then boom! Here come the clouds rolling in. Every bird suddenly stopped chirping. Sure enough something big was about to descend. Unbeknownst to even the most sensitive devices, Natural disaster was coming at break neck speed. The Sun has flared. Heat in a gigantic wave did descend. Every tree burst into flames. Sending the birds all atwitter. Unbelievably oppressive heat scalds the sea. No fish, crustacean, or even killer whale survived; The Sun! The Sun! It has turned against us. Umbrella's looking so elegant on this early summer day, sparked! Raining flames down on those still seeking shelter from the suns onslaught. The roads in front of me began to boil and shoot out globs of the tar that was used to pave them decades ago. The Sun! The Sun! Oh the mighty sun, what will be left of our world when indeed it really does flare; nay explode; and bring the final days of life on earth into being. I'm not sure personally, but I'm sure glad I woke up from my fitful sleep to realize it was all a dream. The world is saved for another day. Ah the reassuring hum of the air conditioner, sufficient enough to keep us cool on a day like today. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and for now all is well with the world. You are beloved! |
