First Chapter of another contemporary romance. |
Marshall ran his cool blue eyes across her face, and she held steel grey eyes on his. This was a silent battle of wills, and they both knew it. And both knew each other well enough to know that neither of them would back down first. Marshall sighed, and was the first to look away. He began to speak, while Raiden whipped out her tape recorder, took notes, and interrupted enough to ask a question or two. The interview over, she stood up and held out her hand. “I appreciate your time, Lt." Marshall ignored the outstretched hand, and turned back to his paperwork. Raiden sighed, and made her way back to the front of the bus, " How is agent Taylor?" Marshall called out to her. She stopped, and whirled around. “Why are you asking me?" “You’re the one fucking him, I figured you'd know how Sloane was doing." Marshall grinned, and then the smile fell from his face as Raiden stomped back to where he was sitting. She placed her face inches from his, and set her hands on either side of his chair. She was commanding, she was furious, and God help him, still as beautiful as ever. “If you wish to discuss something that is non-work related, Lieutenant, feel free to call dispatch and get my home number." She seethed. “This is work, and my work does not include having to explain my sexual activities to you, or anyone else." She said quietly. “If I felt that you needed to know who I was sleeping with, I would have sent you the video." |
