This item originally housed entries for the 2013-2014 round of the "Invalid Item" , which I participated in with OOTâ„¢. Since it is just taking up space in my portfolio and I cannot enter further rounds of the contest (the contest is in my portfolio right now), I might as well repurpose it. This idea came to me when Marci Missing Everyone used a general "endurance contests" book in the latest round of "Invalid Item" -- so thanks for the inadvertent bit of advice, Marci!

Peer pressure works wonders. I never would have finished without OOTâ„¢! Thanks, lady!
I chose to add a challenge for myself this time as well: every entry had to be poetry. Finished! Happy to say that a few of them are worthwhile too!
Here's the poem I wrote about last night's beauty; the last thing I told her was "I'm a writer; I'll be writing a poem about you. She then took a 'selfie' of the two of us. so delightful and yes, she and her very nice wife I will see again, for sure.
"Invalid Entry"
Oh yes.........you know me...........never too old, never! Yes, I got more than one Happy New Year KISS.....but that wouldn't surprise you
If I ever meet ONE! should I tell Molly about her? I'm sure you will give me your best advice!! I'm just loving this new hair, I not only look 50 but feel no older than that so I'm more outgoing than I was beginning to be with my white hair.............no surprise to you, Ky! Life is for LIVING so I don't intend to give up the good and fun times too. I'm going to more lesbian groups at the Q Center instead of just staying at home so I gain new friends to interact with. I have good neighbors who 'look out' for me but now I've got Life Alert so I feel far more safer living and traveling alone since I have that little 'call for help from anywhere" unit to carry with me; less worry for my kids and friends like you.
Snow was on my mind today...You had many clues of the cold, the 'thighs' was an interesting touch, and the slippery fabric, slush dislodged, Everest..sliding down a peak, yes a few hints but still clever personification, a tool aptly used by this marvelous Poet and her puzzles.......we're covered with more inches than the total of the last decade; no mountains on my street though. Tuesday we'll have pouring rain to melt it all away. Things don't look as dismal with me home alone, as it does on the non-snow, very dreary, lonesome days here in Portland. Happy New Year
OH, got to tell you: At my favorite gay bar Friday night, I saw the absolutely most perfect beautiful woman ever in my life; she was so beautiful I just had to approach her and tell her that!! How often does a 50ish lesbian grandmother walk up to you in a bar and tell you "you are the most beautiful woman in the world??"!!! Of course, she smiled, then introduced her wife; I was standing between them. I still 'see' that gorgeous face when I think about her Yes, she smiled her 'thanks' then invited me to sit at their table right beside her for the Drag Show...........what beauty! boy-style haircut so that just made her amazingly beautiful face so gorgeous. I always appreciate very much when I'm invited to sit with others because, without Molly, I often sit alone unless the bar is crowded.
P.S.: Of course, I tell Molly all about the beauties I approach She had better come home before I go 'home' with one of them or bring her home with me
Whata... thank you! Glad that it's effective! It's always hard for me to tell until I set a piece aside for a few days, so it's great to hear!
And Ann & Elle... Thanks, loves!
The mountain is real in the beginning. This might be a strange thing (especially for Elle, what with no snow or barely any snow). In Maine, it snows so much every year that there are piles of snow (plowed from driveways) that are, say, 10 feet high? 14 feet high and around 20 feet long? They're gigantic mountains of snow, and we used to play King of the Mountain on them in the winter. You climb to the top, push the "king" off (if you can), and claim their throne as the new king. When they climb up, you try to knock them down before they can get to the top and push you off.
Anyway, it seemed like a perfectly fitting idea to me. It was the first thing to come to mind, and I couldn't shake it once it was there. In my view, it doesn't get more wintry than a mountain made of snow. And you know... I have lots of strangely tainted childhood memories to draw from, sadly.
I understood much of this but not how it applies to "Wintry Mountains". Rather a "mountain" of a quite different kind. AS a poet you do write in puzzles of a thousand pieces.............. Amazing.

Ah, I see why you felt this one might work for the Love Should Not Hurt contest. I agree. I was struggling to see how you took 'wintry mountains' to this particular scenario, but it works.
