The first blog that I've ever managed to keep for more than 4 entries. Blogging and/or journaling does not come naturally to me, so this blog is a work in progress. I'm still finding my style.

Note that the rating here is 18+. Sometimes, my entries are kid-friendly, but that is not always the case.

Brilliant blog. I agree that canons = cannons was on purpose. I've felt judged and misjudged by religious people, certain branches of Christianity in particular. Perhaps it's better to be damned by them then become like them and damn others.

I'm not into funk but this is a great well-known example. I like that the cover is totally different. Enjoyed listening to both. And yes, I love the title of the song. Very fitting.

1974 is a hole for me when it comes to American/English music. I was in Costa Rica.

Although impressive musically, I was more into folk-rock and anything lyrical in that period. Psychedelic instrumental music was not my thing (as much as I can remember).

Norb.. I'd agree with the less radio-friendliness. Which is probably one of the reasons that it sounds nothing at all like her one-and-only song I had ever heard really:

I don't remember her, though I'm sure I've heard of her or something by her.

"I drank your wine then
I stole your man" almost sounds like it could've been lifted from Licensed to Ill-era Beastie Boys.

Great track, and she really stands out from the other women you mentioned. More conventional maybe? More straightforward, without the pretext of "this needs to be played on the radio, so add drums and guitars"? I dunno.

When I was young, I clung to any bright light I could. James was an excellent distraction. It also kept people from asking me out because they knew I was into this other guy. At various points, James would be interested in me too... but I'd push him away at that point. He'd get over it, and we'd resume.

I was a pretty messed up kid.

I've been an atheist since I was a little kid (despite my family's best efforts). So yeah... can't imagine what would suddenly make me have faith in supernatural stuff. You're right about that.

My reasoning for when this type of thing does happen is... memory is malleable. That's a scientific fact. We forget portions of events, replace bits with other bits of experience... and our mind fills in gaps. If I dreamed of an anonymous girl with brown hair and then saw a picture of a girl with brown hair, my memory might morph to match the picture. Simple as that. I don't think I'm a psychic, but this type of thing has definitely happened to me.

Just not this one.
