This began as my first blog for WDC. Now, after a few weeks of being on this great site and learning my way around, I'm able to give voice to this blog. Please be kind as you read through my first attempts at making myself heard.
Granted, I'm not as avid a reader as I'd like to be, and I do most of my reading online in Blogville...but as a former bookstore employee I'd definitely rather read from a real book. My TBR pile is actual books. I'm just cheap and lazy and can't tear myself away from the internet long enough.
Interesting comparison to reality television, people are drawn to seeing others do crazy things, get dumped in relationships, God only knows what else so why wouldn't they want the same thing in poetry. Just more stuff not to think about... sad!
I like how you answered the prompt. This is my mode of action, too, when the prompt becomes too much, I pick a an edge or tail of it, and I'm home free. Nice poems all. I really like Langston Hughes, as one of my teachers, once upon a time, knew him.
Hello I'm just reading things for a challenge, but I do agree with you on both prompts and also I get to say hi to a Blog City member. I'm not that active of a blogger just ask Joy lol. But I think you will find that blogging does help you settle your mind, help you write better and meet nice people here on WDC. I hope to see you around more as you practice your new trade that of writing. Remember practice makes perfect.
How wonderful, you answered both prompts, and so eloquently. Not everyone is an extrovert in USA, except extroverts can raise their voices higher, I think.
Sometimes, though, there is a moment when if you don't do something... nobody will! Of course that doesn't mean you're responsible for EVERYTHING. At least I sure hope not...
