I think if the aliens had more than two brain cells to rub together, they'd hurry home. I sometimes wonder if humanity can be trusted with dull knives, let alone an entire planet. In this regard, I believe the government is irrelevant---governments are bureaucracies and not the best representatives of ordinary people. I wonder if there's a Fodor's Guide to planets...
ok I really feel I need to add to this and really this is what I love about cats (by the way, my keyboard is playing up and Ive got bored with corecting my words so I do apologise). Right I have a very naughty 3 year old cat caled Hermes. I realy do love him but he is very mischievous in the funiest ways. I must tel you the story of my post ...you know parcels, letters, etc.
I recently got a refund from Amazon after I had got fed up waiting for some parcels to arrive. About three weks after they had been due to arrive I was tidying up in my bedroom and what should I find under my bed ...TWO PARCELS, slightly chewed but otherwise neatly preserved. You see if Hermes wants to steal a packet of treats or a pack of Cutters Choice tobacco (as he did last night), he will hide these items under the bed as he knows I cant quite get under there. So when he decided to collect the post for me, where else was he supposed to hide the parcels. Anyway I thought that was it until this morning I found another package under the bed. A belated birthday present had arived for my friend Jellyfish and of course Hermes, had decided to retrieve it for me. Yep I love my cat, he is so entertaining
Hm, hard to say which I prefer. I am definitely a dog person, but there are times I wish I had a cat again. Though I don't miss all of the hair, since my current dogs shed just as much as a cat.
I had a cat that would purr as my boyfriend and his friend tossed it back and forth across the room. (I walked in on the scene of my cat soaring through the air and landing in the hands of my boyfriend, only to see him toss it back to his friend. I freaked out. Then they showed me the cat was purring. I still made them stop, but often wonder what my cat was thinking at the time. "I am going to be the first cat pilot" "Niel Armstrong, eat your heart out" "Watch out birdies, here I come, once I master flight, there is no stopping me"...
~I have had a dog in my life as long as I can remember, and I think I prefer this. Cats can come and go, but my dogs, they save me.
Gender should never be a consideration for any job, the criteria should focus totally on skills and what assets the applicant brings to the table. Such as applicant 1 has this education and has worked in the field for 5 years while applicant 2 has this education but has no experience in the field. I would consider how important previous experience is than I would consider if there was something in the resume that demonstrated to me that the person thinks outside the box and could bring something creative to the job.
I am in favor of women doing whatever job they seek but I am not in favor of that promotion being filled to fill a status quo for equality. I consider myself a feminist but with that said I strongly believe hard work and commitment should speak loudly not my sex.
