A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Share a time when your mouth hung open in shock/awe/surprise/wonder etc. What was it that made you feel that way?

WRONG BIRDS! *Bird*

Lost my internet connection on computer. Wifi gizmo blew up?? Will have another one soon. In the meantime I have hijacked Keith's computer to get back to *WDC* .

This week, Wednesday, I was sitting in my room playing Township on my kindle when a starling suddenly flew over head. Now the door on the room was shut. I can only imagine it crawled through a crack on the balcony. There is a cat door onto the balcony from my room. It must have flown through the cat door, with cats in pursuit. Cats watched while it banged itself against room windows. I carefully put each cat in a cat kennel, opened a window, storm windows and screens then it kindly flew away. Still for a few minutes I was stunned because it was a stupid bird to attack the house that way. Plus, the last week I have had to release several, all starlings from the back porch. There is one out there right now banging its head against the porch windows. I released one this morning already when I went to the barn. Makes the dog bark and growl too. I can't imagine what is attracting so many to the house this week. They are all young ones. Not fully mature birds yet. Maybe arrived from the South this week. Lots of summer birds arriving daily. Yes. When I first saw the bird I starred for a moment, mouth open, mind yelling what to do?

Never a dull moment here even so we are sequestered until further notice.

Did the census online this morning. So glad we still have wifi and tech.

HAPPY TRAILS EVERYONE KEEP SAFE AND WELL. *FlowerP*
