I'm somewhat divided by this. On one hand I already have glasses so to go totally blind wouldn't be a big stretch. I would miss seeing colors, possibly what my spouse and any future children look like.

As far as movies go, I could still hear so I can remember how it looked when I still had eyesight. Sometimes how movies envision book characters can be disappointing so my active imagination's version would probably be more entertaining anyway.

The one thing that would be disappointing about being deaf would be listening to music. Sometimes it's more of a distraction or white noise when being alone makes my mental health crap.

And I'd worry about forgetting what my mother sounds like. We could probably work it out but sometimes it helps to be able to hear it. I wouldn't be much of a lip reader. At least being deaf, I couldn't hear people making snide comments about me. Being blind, I couldn't see them but would still hear them.

I'm kind of torn about this question. You figure you learn to adapt over time. It's a coin toss for me. I'd feel the loss sure, but in the end adaptation is necessary for your own survival and well being.
