elusive4lynn -- I had no idea that it was cancelled. I had actually been seeing advertisements saying it would be on TV.

Guess what they probably did was to show clips from other Rose Parades.

Anyway, what ever was on I slept through it.

I believe this is the 4th time the Rose Parade was cancelled. The Rose Parade has previously been canceled in 1942, 1943 and 1945, during World World II.

-- How wonderful that would be -- and I believe that there is a realistic chance for every one of them to either actually come true and/or be well on their way there, even though there will be those still fighting to keep this from happening...

Sounds really like a fun time in the early days when you were in school. Alas, we in the Netherlands don't really celebrate Halloween. I think we miss out on something.

Sherwood Anderson was quite well-known at one time. I first found out about him in my jr. high reading, which must be in the late 1950s. I like the sincerity in his lines.

Great take on voice, from the point of view of the person hearing and the one who is singing or writing. Most writers who find their own personal voice go on to become great authors.

Operation Calm

PROMPT What does “having a calm center” mean to you? Can you design or imagine a calm center for yourself similar to decorating an empty space? What do your decorations consist of?
