Thoughts on reality altering events in our world. Enter at your own risk.
Many of my stories derive from the expanding revelations of technology we are experiencing now. I speculate on its impact for humans today. Its even made me speculate on what it means to be human because we have been drowned in memes of fake news, fake this, and fake that. Makes it very difficult to define reality and our part in it.

I've been around for almost six decades and I've never seen the level of chaos we seem to be experiencing now. I don't need to speculate on that one. So, my technological stories and sci-fi are written to hopefully expand reader's awareness to a reality changing so fast around us and open a pathway to speculating with me.

Other blogs are personal experiences that most defintely influence my writing. I had generally been an easy going person until I sensed and then experienced an ever increasing darkness intrude our world. It is in the core of my nature to investigate a mystery and that was how the research into technology began. I already had a curiosity of ancient history and when I found the two intersecting I naturally had to know, "how is this happening?"

I hope you enjoy my Is This For Real? moments as I share with you the magic of our tech, the questions I think we need to asked, and a realility we quickly need to adapt to.

Warm Sweater Day first appeared in the Netherlands as a result of the Kyoto Protocol1 and quickly spread to other countries. The day is symbolic of making a sacrifice of comfort for the betterment of earth's climate. The movement was a response to reports of human caused climate change that was brought to public attention since the early 19th century while studying ice age and greenhouse effect. This later led into human effects like aerosols, manufacturers, and automobiles as a direct effect on climate and global warming.2

There doesn't seem to be an origin for the day. Some have suggested it was a market gimmick attached to Climate Change.3 Whatever its origin it has brought awareness to the topic of Climate Change and a cool sweater day.Turning the thermostat down a notch, wrapping up in a blanket or warm sweater, and cozy up to a book to save the planet seems like a good idea and one I could personally practice more than one day of a month.

Although the heated arguments about global weather change will be debated for years to come, it did bring our consciousness to a new understanding of our impact with the planet we live on. We see our world as a globe of life, instead of a ball of commerce. Some of us look back in time and observe how the indigenous were able to live in harmony. Others embrace a future of controlling the effects of change with technology. Warm Sweater Day would be more in line with harmony and the control would be in our own actions to take part.

Whatever the outcome in the future, Warm Sweater Day, will be looked upon as a positive action of individuals who cared about the collective of humanity. Rules and regulations will not save us from our bad behavior and we will have to take responsibility for our own individual behavior that either had a positive or negative impact on the future of the planet. Whatever the origin was for Warm Sweater Day, it will be seen as a positive action of caring about the collective future of the planet and humans that occupy it.

Note: Canada National Sweater Day is the first Thursday of February that started in 2010. Thumbs up, Canada!4

So, I learned today that IBM has opened their quantum computer for people to use. I am leaving a link for you to check out. This would be a great experience for geeks and students doing research.

I came across a film today by a man named Ken McKim and it was so informative I wanted to pass this on. I will give a link at the end of this journal.

I resonated with Ken McKim when he discussed the confusion and consequent lack of empathy of chronic illness and pain within society. I resonated with it because I personally live this nightmare he describes.

He described his reality changed when his once vibrant and active wife became ill with Crohes disease. He became aware that medications for pain are being withdrawn from chronic illness/pain and discusses the seemingly minute (extremely small) use of words that changed a large perspective.

I encourage people to listen to his films and really listen to what is being conveyed as a cry for compassion and take into consideration this will affect your life personally one day. My experience has been that when you wait for it to effect you personally, it's too late.

Thank you,
