A Kobo For Christmas On Christmas morning, My daughter, son-in-law, 25-year-old grandson, and I were gathered around the tree opening our socks. Yes, we still do that. Hey, I'm only 65 and I'm still on Santa's Nice List. I love Christmas morning! I love spending time with my family, the happy faces, carols playing softly in the background, the aroma of baking turkey drifting in from the kitchen, and the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree. There were shouts of glee and giggles as we tore into our gifts. Although I received lots of nice gifts, my favourite one this year was a Kobo. I sat stunned as I opened it. Finally, I can read whatever book I want, when I want to. No more haunting used bookstores or digging through bags of books people donate to me and no more stacks of books This gift will allow me to keep one of my goals for 2018. I intend to read a book every week this year, maybe two depending on the length. I will keep a record of all books read like I did the 2nd half of 2017. "Books I've read in 2017 with Comments" Reading can help improve my writing. I have read this advice many times here at WDC. So, I will polish up my reading glasses and get started. Update: 79 books recorded in 2018! |
