I've always said I've got no religion, but if it would be any it'd be paganism. I've always been fascinated personally in crystals and their properties. They're really pretty too, so that helps! I'm torn between being a scientific sceptic, and wanting to believe in the effects some of them claim to have. Basically, it's an internal debate I have!
Ive just created the new blog and am about to go through the absolute tonne of paperwork I have on crystals and make the first post! I hope everyone can get a look at it when it is up and running and if they have anything they would like to add to the blog! its been wonderful to hear little bits from all of you and it has given me hope that maybe this blog will start to take off!
Jusy like Christopher Roy Denton I am Christian with very deep Native American spiritualism. I have been adopted into a Cherokee tribe by my Native American "sister" I Love WDC! Cissy❤ (She has not been on WDC for a while.) I received a ministry certificate from her teachings, and my spiritual connection was so strong that she found a Shaman-like quality and worked further with me. I have been strong with herbs and other healing methods and she smiled when I gave her something healing and told her what was ailing her, it worked for her. She called me a Medicine Woman. I have read cards since a youth and besides regular cards, I have done Tarot card readings. If I do not read cards when a certain feeling urges me to, I will in fact dream about an event about to happen. I have death dreams that warn of a person I know's impending death. It's a gift and a curse at the same time. I have been called a White Witch because I stay away from evil practices meant to use or harm another. That is where my Christian side shines through. I have burned candles and sage and incorporated prayers to rid evil and have battled bad curses by one who tried to harm me or mine through dark spells. So, where ever that puts me in this food chain of witchery is where I hang my pointed hat.
Oh, I just realized that you might have thought those organized mentioned were covens. Ordo Templi Orientis is sort of like a Masonic lodge, only it is based on the teachings of Aleister Crowley. Earth Spirit People is 50 acres where several different pagan groups gather for festivals and other Pagan centered camping activities.
I’ve heard that a lot of people have had bad experiences with covens. I don’t like the idea of leading or being led. More of a small cluster of friendly people than an actual coven is what happens in my brain when I think of them haha.
As a Christian rather than a Pagan, I have little experience of what's good and what's bad within Paganism. However, I do know that the local coven where I live has a very bad reputation. I suspect that there are good covens and bad ones. Be careful and ask around and make enquires before joining one.
I'm 43, but I first got involved in the Pagan community when I was 24. At that time I had a really bad experience with covens, so I have been leery ever since. Observing other people's experiences, it seems like there is always someone on a control trip that ruins things for everyone. Still, I'm sure it still workout for some. Me personally, I have no interest in becoming part of any coven.
