The Modern Day Witch

Welcome to The modern day witch. An online book of shadows of sorts. Many new age and even older practicing pagans conceal their beliefs and way of life. Until very recently this was me personally. Afraid to let the world become conscious of what I was and what I believe in. This is the start of a new big project for me. Many pagans do not have access to the materials they want and need to feel like they are fulfilling what they feel is their path. I always knew what I was and what I believed, but never what I should be doing to feel satisfied with my path. One day I came across a wonderful small business named Freyas cauldron. A provider of witch craft supplies for practicing pagans. Once I could afford it, I purchased the monthly subscription box. Each month I receive a box containing herbs, jewellery, crystals and other wonderful things. Each and every thing that comes in my box has a description of its purpose, uses anything you could imagine to want to know. My mission is to bring the knowledge I learn to the WDC pagan community in hope to bring more fulfilment in a way to the full diversity of practicing people in this community who want to experience or just to learn. I will be making regular posts and updates on Elemental and healing crystals, their purposes and uses, simple home spells, regular reviews of the prestigious Pagan Dawn magazine provided by the Pagan federation and much more. One of the best feelings I have experienced Is having the clarity of who I really am and where I should be going, and I hope to bring this sense of happiness and fulfilment to more people in this world whether they are private or willing to shout from the rooftops about what they believe.

I hope you all enjoy reading my virtual book of shadows and it brings enjoyment and understanding to people from all walks of life.

Thank you, it took me so long to get this bit finished because of the hospital that I left a few bits out. They will all be subjected to edits eventually anyway because theres just so much to know about everything. x :)

You mention 'circle of stones' and facing the rising midsummer sun in your ritual chants, however you don't appear to mention the archaeological evidence for such practices going back as early as the Neolithic. For example, Newgrange, a burial barrow in Ireland, is a famous and very impressive Neolithic monument (much older than Stonehenge, which is also aligned to the midsummer sunrise) with a door aligned to allow in sunlight on midsummer's day morn.

I do think that would be a nice idea and may broaden your group of potential readers.

However, I'd recommend you bang out all the sections you've already got in mind first and then come back to add other less important stuff on your final edits. I'd also recommend you prioritise Wikipedia links (from Wikipedia to here and not the other way around) in front of such edits because any new readers drawn from there will already have read the historical stuff.

You might also like to mention other, less salient points, such that there is a very similar stone called sard and it's difficult to distinguish between them, and historically Carnelian was used to make seal stones because apparently one of the properties of this mineral is that hot wax doesn't stick to it.

That's what I love about healing crystals, just when you think they cant possibly do any more good, theres always something new to learn about them. Im glad you enjoyed this little segment. Im hoping to get a few more crystal Properties posts up tonight!

The color aside, looking at the meaning, it is interesting that it would be considered a water element, rather than earth. Although, water can have a calming effect on some people, metaphorically calming their thoughts. Makes sense that it would be associated with Sagittarius, as they are a talkative bunch when it comes to subjects that they have studied.

I was aware of some of this, but I never knew that it was good for panic attacks. Interesting.
