| A rather bright morning here today. I've been searching for writer jobs online. I also Googled Things to do in London England. There are many things to see in London. Just the museums is enough to make you gag. I don't like museums as a rule. It's a static thing, seeing stuff in a Museum. I rather go to the shops and see the sights like the Parks there. I saw something there in Parks today - allotments. You can be a volunteer to work there in an allotment. You'll perks like vegetables to bring home to cook. And working in the open air is a Godsend. I wouldn't mind volunteering if I lived in London, England. |
| I just shared a pork bun with my pups. It's also called siopao. We get them from the Asian store in town. That store is a treasure trove of fun and tasty delicacies. It sells Indian food, the kind which is microwavable. They also have meats that are good to cook, from the freezer section. The pork bun is a bread with a pork filling. The bread is substantial and envelopes the filling well. There are other pork buns they sell, from Vietnam or China. Those are also good. They're smaller in diameter than the siopao. The siopao seems to be more popular to their customers than the rest. At least that's my impression. They have seafood in the Asian store. Things like smoked milkfish which is also called bangus. I haven't been to this store for a while, but my Stepfather goes there more often. He buys his rice from them. And sometimes he brings home shrimp chips. Those are tasty and good to eat. They also have sardines there -- several kinds - spicy and those in a tomato sauce. They also sell rice cookers and other dishes that you can use too serve soups. They have a variety of noodle dishes in a package. They have pho in a package, and other Asian noodles that you can put in a pot of boiling water, or have it with boiling water in it's own container. They also sell mangoes and chestnuts (during the holidays). Sometimes they sell live crabs, but I can't tell if they still do that because the former owners had that and this new owner might not be interested in selling them. We used to buy those crabs from them and eat them at home after they've been boiled. Our city isn't that big but we're grateful that there's a store like that in the neighborhood. |
| The day is lovely outside. A cool breeze was blowing. It was a sunny morning today. The sun burned bright in the sky. It felt like a scorching heat on my face and in my eyes as I tried to see it. Silly me, never look at the sun directly. That's what I'm told. If I looked at the sun it burn a thing of an image into my eyes and I'd see a black hole instead of the sun's reflection. Is it just that can see it as a black hole? What do YOU think of that? Have you ever seen a black hole in place of the sun after you've looked up at it? It's weird. Like a negative of a picture. You see dark blotches where figures are and images are in the picture. You'll see gradations of dark and light, like a chiaroscuro, in the image on the negative. That's what I am thinking of. Too bad we have grown out of taking physical pictures on a camera, something like Nikon or Leica, and it's cool. I've never been able to develop pictures in a room, like a bathroom, to get the whole experience of taking pictures. I should have taken a course in photography and developing pictures from college. But I was into other things that took out of my day, precious time out of my day. It's weird, how you think back on what you've been doing in the past. Is it important to you now? Do you think that algebra is worth having a subject in school? More, like calculus, what do you think it's done for you? Nothing, zilcho, nada. The only thing calculus is needed is you're into projectiles and space and engines and rotary turbines, and if you're an engineer, you'd need calculus. What good is that to a normal human being. Not to demean engineers, but I think an engineer has a mind that's like an Excel table. All x and y and z axes. Nothing else fills an engineer's mind. There's also risk analysis. Now, that's a cool subject. What about risk analysis for writers? Do you care if your characters take a risky move? How do you keep them out of trouble too much that they defy things you want them to do like LIVE? I'd hate to kill off a character, don't you agree? I have extraneous characters in my stories. One of them is a bartender in London, England, who runs a cover for the MI5 agency. His girl and his colleague sit there in a dim room with a computer to talk about what they're doing in spy land. Another character is the bearer of a murderous letter to a bastard, who works for the CIA but is secretly spying on English people's lives. The bearer of a this letter leaves it for the guy from the CIA and he opens it and it spouts poisonous fumes into his lungs as he breathes it in inadvertently. So he drops dead and there's one less bastard in the ranks of the CIA in England. These folks in MI5 knows how to get it going, don't they? If you want to read that book, it's called Love in the Time of Terror. It's about a woman from the USA, who gets stranded in England and has to make do living there because she's in love with England. Her fiance ditches her for his ex-lover who's his enabler and gives him money to keep on with his addictions. So this girl dumps her fiance, and goes off and swans into the arms of her roommates fiance, this guy is interested enough in her and yet has a job with the MI5. It's up to you to check out my book. | I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!!! I just had a beef taco and it is good. So very good. So f---- good. I love Mexican food. I could eat it all day long seven days a week. I love their taco, chicken tacos, tamales, taquitos, enchiladas. I could go off on a riff about Mexican Food. I love the shows of Rick Bayless on PBS. He has the Frontera shows. I love their Mexican rice. I tried to make Mexican Rice a while ago and it was a flop. I think I need to find a recipe for it so it goes well. I love their spiciness. I love the texture of a corn taco and the filling. Make mine all beef. I like their guacamole sauce. I like that they serve sour cream with the rest of the fixings in Mexican restaurants. I used to go to this Mexican restaurant but they started to pall, in their food tastiness. I might have exhausted them going there every week for several weeks. I used to order their pork tamales. That was my favourite. Then they had those refried beans but I didn't much care for those. I like most of their dishes. I'm sure there are other more exotic Mexican dishes, that I missed out on. I also like Taco Bell. They have decent Mexican rice. That's all I wanted to say. I love Mexican food! |
| I have been notified that my student loan will start sending me a bill after January next year. I owe the US Government $35 + K for my tuition fees to get my MFA. I graduated in 2019. I hope to get a better gauge on my finances after the year is out. Right now I have medical bills to pay. And I have another set of bills that I'm paying back. The Social Security Administration is set to give seniors a COLA raise of 6.2%. If that happens, that means I'll earn some more money each month and I can possibly pay the student loan on a regular basis. |
| My Stepfather is early today. He has an appointment with the car mechanics to service his car. He's going for an oil change and filter change, unless I'm mistaken. I hope it is a successful venture. |
| I'm glad to see Monday again. I expect some emails from companies who might be interested in hiring me. But at least I'll be getting these and other items into my inbox. The day looks gloomy though. It rained through the night. I think that the last leaves of Fall are going to fall into the ground. Soon everything will look bare in preparation for the Winter Season. I sense a coldness creeping up my feet at this thought. I hope we get Indian Summer then. The summer wants to reach into the Fall, it seems. |
| It's been raining all day today. Just now the rains have come down more than before. I'm waiting for dinner tonight. My Stepfather is making it. He's making beef tacos. I'll have to eat mine without the taco shell. I don't think we have enough taco shells to have me have some of it. That's ok with me. The corn taco shell gives me problems with my digestion anyway. I mean, it might be too much for my gut to work on. |
| My Stepfather has crackers, butter and coconut sport for breakfast. He eats a good meal. But my pups want some too. My smaller puppy barks up a storm until he gets a cracker. He sits on my lap and watches my Stepfather eat his breakfast. It looks delicious from where I sit. So today, to avert a crisis, I asked my Stepfather to give them crackers and he did. Now the dogs are doing better. I have to remind my Stepfather to give them crackers every morning. That way, my puppy will be happy. |
