This is a catch all area for thoughts and things.
This is merely a collection of my thoughts on various topics, as I think of them, or find them in my other writings. All are original, and I state freely that they are generally highly opinionated.

Is Mitt Romney the only Republican in the Senate who has retained a sense of ethics?

Trump is a president with no ability to differentiate between his needs and the country's needs. He also constantly makes things up, on the fly, to suit a situation. He has disparaged the press corps, demeaning their very purpose, to inform us.

The impeachment trial was a farce with a good number of senators admitting he was guilty of the charges submitted to them, yet, they voted to acquit. That in itself is a flagrant disregard of their duties as senators. Where is their shame?

Wow! my head spins in a Möbius strip pattern. National, Statewide, Local – Makes no difference. It’s a fascinating, frightening, and fragile situation. Where will we go from here? “Can’t we all get along” has become meaningless.

My hope is that we are experiencing a huge reorganization, a housecleaning of sorts. For that to be true (truth has become a suspicious concept) we have to be better informed and definitely morally better than those holding political office today.

It’s time We, the People stop acting like our elected officials. It’s time to use them as a bad example on how to act and do better among ourselves. It’s time to throw out this foolish, destructive behavior and get our collective public act together to act as a viable, productive community.

No easy task, but we can do it. We can “get our act together” to become a community willing and certainly ready to improve our political lot. It’s a tough road, but we have to do it for our own survival.

Stop allowing Congress. the president, the governor, the state legislature, the mayor, and city council to provide us with their self-enriching truths. It’s time we started providing Congress. the president, the governor, the state legislature, the mayor, and city council with our truths and demanding they stick to our agenda.

Go! Go on! Get started before it’s too late to save ourselves.

Fornication is an old law on the books in Virginia. Basically, it is illegal in Virginia to have sex with someone to whom you are not married. So, the truth is, Virginia is for married lovers only.

The anti-fornication law is rarely charged, true. The last time it was enforced was in 2015, from what I found. and it tends to be used as a "pile on" charge. That is if you are charged with another related crime, say exposure, if that exposure is with someone else and included intimacy, then that charge was added to add fines, jail time, embarrassment, and so forth. Kind pf like making a mountain of a molehill.

There is a bill in the Virginia state legislature to take that law off the books, again. Maybe this time it will be deleted.

Whatever one's thoughts on extramarital sex is, most agree that iit is no one's business who we have sex with. Morality must not be legislated if the act takes place between two consenting adults.

Well, what about a cheating spouse. There are other laws to take care of that situation. Many laws concerning cheating fall under civil or divorce categories. Such behavior is often covered under pre-marital agreements.

Sex with a minor or a person incapacitated and unable to make a valid decision are protected by other laws and should be prosecuted. Simply having sex with a person willing and able to enjoy the encounter should not be illegal.

The legislature has attempted to wipe the fornication laws off the books, but these attempts have failed in the past. Maybe this time it will happen.

What do you think? I look forward to reading your comments.
