My blog with multiple titles of a dubious nature. |
Questionable Practices of the Spare Chicken ... or ... Private Bits The Unnamed Blog My Own Private Island Drawbridge to My Mind Give Me an Eraser for This Thing Blog Which is so Confusing That a Name Really Could Not Fit, and If It Did, This Wouldn't Be It, So Just Scroll Down and Have a Read Anyway ... or, on the naughtier side ... Questionable Practices of My Private Bits ~~~~~~~~~~ I decided to use multiple titles, but if you would still like to vote on my blog title you still can. Here is the link.
~~~~~~~~~~ Now, down to the focus of my blog. *ponders and wrinkles brow* There is none. I plan on talking about anything and everything that is wierd and happens to cross my mind at the time. Some moments may seem pretty sane, but they will quickly be interrupted by things much less normal, things that may make you cringe, clamp your jaw tight and make sure your belt buckle is still cinched. Anyway, on with the ... ramblings. |
In the semi-imortal words of Abe I repeat, "Party on dude!" I am having a great time with all the Writing.com, 5th birthday bash this year. There are just so many things going on it is hard to decide what to participate in next. One thing I really like is the banner at the top of the site pages. I like the different coloured patterns of squares, stripes and balloons. ... Drat! Now I am going to have to rent that movie! |
*is feeling kind of odd right now* I just sent my first submission of a story to anything that could get me published. It was an entry into a contest that publishes the winners in an annual anthology. Here is their site: http://www.circlet.com/GL1997.html Disclaimer - This is an erotica contest. And here is the item I entered: "Invalid Item" Yeah, I know you can't get into the story at the moment. I would hate to mess up my chances at winning by making the item seem published already in my port. So, sooner or later I will open it up for a few to read, but that will wait until I hear some word on how the story does in the contest. I guess the deadline for entry is tomorrow so I lucked out by working on a story that would fit and then stumbling across their web site after. Anyway, I'm not complaining. *keeping fingers crossed for now* By the way, I found the submission tracker in the premium membership to be easy to use, so will experiment with it some and see what all it does now I have a submission. |
It's like a bad dream. I am so sick of touring Windows XP. I think in the last two days I have been offered to tour Windows XP about 22 times. *twitch* *twitch* |
I am trying to organize my insurance, my home warranty place, a couple roofers and an electrician. They all seem to be on different time clocks. *shakes head* Someday it will all even out and become a quiet settled life again. I hate when it gets this way, but I guess that is part of taking care of a home. If any of you homeowners have any tips please pass them my way. |
Yup, my first house fire. It better be my last. I have a fan in my attic that I guess turns on when the heat up there gets too high. Well, the fan shorted out and made a possing sound. I think it did so on Friday night and also a couple times yesterday too, but I thought the sound was my fridge going bad so today when I heard the sound I thought I would go out and listen in the kitchen to see if I could find where it came from and when I got there there were drops of flame coming down through my kitchen vent in the ceiling. The other vent, the one that shorted out was in the roof right above the kitchen fan so luckilly saw it. At that point everything went into automatic. Fire extinguisher... 911 call for the fire department... wait outside and wave them in when they get here... stand around and get looked at like the neighborhood wierdo until the firemen leave... then the most important bit, tell the woman I love what happened and that I am alright and that I will stay safe tonight and be out if anything more happens. Turns out there is a switch to turn off that fan so it should not cause any trouble now, but need to stay home tomorrow and see if I can get an electrician to replace it and I want him to look at the one in the kitchen and disconnect that ceiling fan until I can get a safer modern one for there. The one there is probably also from when the house was built in 1953. One thing of note, I am paranoid of fire and will probably not get much sleep tonight though it is probably completely safe. I also know my fire detectors work. They did not go off because it was such a small flame and it was higher than them, but they would go off if any smoke built up. I tested them to make sure they work. I guess owning a home really is an adventure. |
Why does scroll alway end up on the topic of food? My tummy is grumbling now with all the thoughts of all the tasty sammiches mentioned. *looks around* Where did I put that drool emoticon??? |
I have a third story in the works, one given to me as a challenge. It took a while to get the idea down right but I should be on to writing it this week. So far it looks like it is going to be a pretty long one. Oh well. A story is a story. I am still working on the other two though they have rested a few days recently. I did get a poem also written Friday that I am rather proud of. It came out pretty easy but it also read well on the first go, but because of the form I had to edit anyway for the line syllable counts.
I have one story moving on it's second draft and a second story with a finished first draft. Now all I need is a publisher to send them to. There is more info on it all in my publication journal. I finally made another entry in there.
I may need another proofreader/editor but right now I am still working on them with the excelent editor I have. *looks around* Now on to my next story. Sometimes the ideas come in floods so right now I am floating on a sea of ideas. Thanks so much to that inspiring woman and editor. |
