This resort would be an incredible addition to anyone's bucket list.
[Introduction]
Do you remember the late/great Donny Hathaway’s rendition of a great song titled “A Song for you”? The first line of that song says, - “I’ve been so many places in my lift and time”. That line came to mind as I sat on a chase lounge in the shade, under a thatch umbrella on the black sanded beach of Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia. If I were writing that same song now, the second line would say, “but none more intoxicating than this”.
One afternoon, as one of the very attentive beach attendants asked me, (while offering a refreshing mint infused ice cold face cloth to help off- set the heat of the day), “what would you like to do today?” As I sit and take in the views, sounds and atmosphere on Anse Chastanet Beech, after a long thoughtful moment, I could not help but answer, “I’m doing it”. He smiled and as he walked away said; “enjoy your stay in paradise”. I indeed stretched that moment of Utopia into a full day.
The next day I actually left my beach side perch and took a taxi tour of the island. We visited the shopping districts, area attractions as well as spent some time off the main roads and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the local citizens of such cities and towns as - Castries (The Capital), Laborie, Soufriere, Dennery and Rodney Bay. While I found it educational and enjoyable to take this tour, as most guests would tell you, it is not easy to leave this breath-taking resort, Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain, that offers just about everything you could want for a relaxing getaway.
I would be remiss not to mention the dining choices you get here, all are excellent and finger licking good. Having said that, at the Jungle Grill on Anse Mamin beach, a beautiful secluded additional beach still part of the resort, just a ten minute walk or a five minute boat road from Chastanet beach, you will be treated to what may arguably be one of the best burgers you have ever had, anywhere. It was my choice for lunch several times.
This was our second visit to this extraordinary place known as Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain Resort. In closing I will leave you with this thought, there is an adage that says, “lightning never strikes in the same place twice”, well, we have had a once in a lifetime vacation, twice.
This would be an incredible addition to anyone's bucket list, the unforgettable Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain Resort in St. Lucia.
