Rio Carnival

Undoubtedly, the international festival that I would not miss is the Rio Carnival, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, once a year. What makes it so appealing for me is the exhilarating experience you get, specially if you take part of if.
The Carnival is a wild four day celebration that gather people from different backgrounds. During the these days, there is a lively atmosphere that lasts all day and night and people free themselves to dancing and drinking till dusk. When you are at the parade, you can hear as many languages as you will, probably, at an airport- people from all around the globe come here to celebrate. But the ebullience of the festivity comes from the locals, poor people from the favelas, the poorest dwellings of Rio. Favela´s dwellers enthusiastically work all year round to make the colourful, lavish customes; the magnificient thematic carnival floats that eventually will compete for a prize.
