This is a poem about waiting for a love that's never to come.
[Introduction]
I have waited patiently
In the same manner of a child
With an absolute innocence,
Unafraid of hurtful moments.
I have waited blinded
As the faithfuls do,
Based on guts feelings.
I have waited hopeful,
With the certainty of mothers
On their child's return
I have waited pure,
Without asking for the same
Waited minutes, hours, days
For a phrase, a word
The simplicity of an smile,
A consent or approval...
Yet your indifference is gaining on me,
I'm not Penelope.
I have waited 'till today,
For I have convinced myself you're not worth it,
I have come to realized the idea of you is an illusion,
never to return,
since it never was...
I was just waiting
to build the strength to move on.
