I definitely take language into consideration. Because who really wants to read a "taboo" piece full of fucks? I think if it's gratuitous violence, sex, gore, it should be there for a reason, not just thrown in for shock value...
When I write a piece, I'm less interested in being PC or "flowery" in my words. If people read and rate, great. If they don't, I do not lose sleep over it. I find the more "taboo" the piece is, the less it's read or rated... still, that won't stop me from writing what I want to. I'm not here solely for the R&Rs anyway.
On another note, some people do rate based on the content alone. If it's XGC and they get offended by it, they may be likely to throw in a 2.0... even if it's well-written. This, I believe, is detremental to the piece itself. If it is well-written, thought-provoking, and shocking, why not rate it with that in mind?
