What makes you so sure you can't sell your work? Nobody asks for your resume before they'll read your work. Don't give up so easily. Christopher Paolini didn't, and his 2nd book was just released. He's now 19, he wrote the first book at 15. I've read them, they're great.

But, if you want to go straight to the self-publication route, check out LULU.com I'm looking into going with them for my cookbook, and some people here have used them quite happily.
