A mornings word

Lingering thoughts of quiet despair
And the night it stands in wait
Brokens hearts I cannot repair
Nor tempt the hand of fate
Desperate measures do not ensure
Nor do they create
A pleasant pause we must endure
In efforts our souls we sate
