Boy! Do I love that first line. Over all I like the whole thing, but it feels like a verse rather than a complete poem. I want to know more about him, perhaps why he's like this and definitely what happened. With some intro verses and more to follow, this could be a great story poem. (Kinda like Casey at Bat, but heavier, more grim, though not necessarily.)
