I love the point you make about a "simple review" and a "ditzy" review! That's exactly right! I find that I spend a lot of time thinking about my reviews and struggling to make them perfect, when really, the writer just wants meaningful feedback. I have gotten a few helpful one or two line reviews, but they are usually for short, 500 word pieces. Without a few examples of what the reviewer liked or didn't like, it's hard to feel like the insight will lead to something positive in the writing. That's my opinion, at least.
I also like your idea of adding a juicy passage at the end of the review. I'm going to "borrow" that one.
