A mornings word
by wordsy



Contend not
with the voices of ignorance
rather stay the echoes
that whisper in the night

Those sweet gentle things
in earnest concert
that pose an indifference
to bewilderment
in a time forgotten
yet remembered still

A cause fought
with the gift of grace
to remove the shadows
shown upon the souls
of those found suffering

A passion passed forth
of lingering lament
to stoke the fires
of grief’s regrets
that smolder in
the ashes that remain

A temptress of time
that lies bound
by the sorrows
of seduction
whose cries are but a mere
whimpering of want
