I think you're fine either way. Many people using ancient tongues use a formal, old-fashioned version of English when writing, mostly because they think people expect it. However, they rarely do it well, and people familiar with more than the cultural consciousness' version of the Bible find it contrived and often inaccurate. (For instance, people think that "thee" and "thou" are form terms, when in fact they were the informal form of "you," and "you" was the formal word. Equivalents in Spanish, if you speak it: thee/tú, you/usted.)

I have read books set in ancient times that do not use fluffy and terrible approximations of Middle English, and I think they're much better, but that's because I find the wrong-ness of usage distracting. It depends on your audience.
