A lot of psych drugs can cause you to gain weight. My previous doctor overmedicated me and with drugs with this side effect. I gained almost 100 lbs! I found a new doctor and, he has taken me off/reduced so many of the drugs. And he has taken me off of the weight gaining meds and put me on other meds with out that side effect. I am soooo thankful.
Long story short, there are options out there. Have you tried Ativan? It works great for me.
