I think you are right, especially about feeling lighter. I think it could be because I hated washing my hair and it was getting longer and longer and I alway had it up. I hated the way it looked. You know, I never realized this but, my hair was a burden to me. I chopped off my burden.

When you're depressed its hard to take action and take control but little things that require little much effort might help.
Sit in the house naked.
Hygiene.
Cook something out of the ordinary.
Clean something that never gets cleaned.
Rearranging furniture.
Prank calling people.
Anything that is not in your routine.
Throwaway stuff. - My favorite because this is freeing and very easy.
