In my eyes a Giantess wouldn't be gentle if she was the type to hurt people seriously and purposely cause damage, and more often than not those actions can go from being violent to downright sadistic depending on the situation. One of the best examples of a Playful Gentle Giantess I've found is in the Rowena stories by Pixis - the hundred foot tall character is very well written and lives in a place where she could totally dominate if she wanted to, yet she tries to be helpful and protective of the village she lives nearby, despite their fears and anger against her as a being who they connect to more violent giants. Whilst she will defend herself if someone attacks her it is rare that she actually kills anyone, and eventually she falls in love with a human sized man who sees her for her personality and beauty instead of her kind's history. And so their love for each other spans multiple tales with both humans and giants having to come to terms with the idea. So she is easily the best example in my eyes of a gentle playful giantess type. The link can be found here:
