No, that won't work. That [premium] setting affects the whole forum (who can post), not just a specific thread.

Group Only Posting: This setting is allowed only for a Premium or higher membership level. When working on this Message Forum with a Group, you can set the forum to both allow posts only by the group members and a minimum level a group member must be in order to post in the forum.


The only option currently available is the all-manual one: to edit each post in the thread you want to "lock" with a notice that any replies to the thread will be deleted, and then do that if someone replies anyway. The notice could go in the subject line as an emoticon *Lock* , or in words at the top of the message body. Also include the policy in the forum header. It won't prevent people from replying, but serving notice justifies deleting the unwanted posts.
