Congratulations on your new merit badge: "Screenwriting"! Thank you for commissioning a badge for the community and supporting us with your inspirations, participation and activities for our members. We appreciate it! -SMs *Left* this fancy new screenwriting Merit Badge? I will award it to the first person who replies to this forum post with the correct answer to the following question:

When it comes to writing credits, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) - the guild/union for professional screenwriters - makes a distinction between the use of the word "and" and the ampersand symbol ("&") when listing multiple writers who work on a project. For example, a writing credit that reads:

Written by
Joe Screenwriter & Jane Screenwriter

means something entirely different than:

Written by
Joe Screenwriter and Jane Screenwriter

What is the difference between the two credits? What does "and" signify and what does "&" signify?

This answer shouldn't be too hard to find with a little nosing around the internet. If you wanted to be really awesome, you could provide a link to the webpage or site where you found the information so that others could learn more about this aspect of screenwriting credit as well! *Wink*

Good luck!
