Not sure how you're going to fill your days now that you aren't frantically writing dozens of short stories, poems, and reviews every day? Looking for a way to ignore your other life responsibilities while participating in another long-form Writing.com activity? Well then, boy, do I have just the thing for you!  This is just a monthly reminder that the current round of "Musicology Anthology" still has two months left! If you've never participated before, it's a chance to write a collection of short stories based on the track listing of a music album of your choice! It only runs April through June every year, so if that's of interest to you, there's still plenty of time to enter!

One of my favorite new activities this year has been GERVIC 🐉 WDC Dragon Vale  's amazing "WDC Dragon Vale" . If you haven't participated yet, it's an XP-based challenge to grow dragon eggs into full-sized dragons based on your participation around the site. The challenge itself is well laid out, and the accompanying artwork has been designed impeccably. Definitely check it out if raising dragons might be your thing!

All hail, Jayne  , my choice for princess after this "Game of Thrones" is over. I have my reasons... Obviously, the princess I would choose is the Free Folks' very own Jayne . Is it partially because I know she’ll absolutely hate being called “princess” all the time? Of course. But she’s also one of the smartest, funniest, and most caring people that I know. She would lead our kingdom into prosperity through a series of savvy political moves backed up by a sharp wit and strategic mind. In fact, after we finish our conquest in the Game of Thrones, I’m strongly considering installing her on the Iron Throne to rule over all the Kneelers while I return to the North and my life of relative peace and obscurity. I know I’d be leaving the Iron Throne in good hands, and that Jayne would rule with a “tough but fair” mindset and would focus on solving the internal problems of the realm before she looks outward toward additional conquest or expansion.... and even wrote an ode to our new regent: Oh Jayne, oh Jayne, reluctant princess of the realm, Why must we crown thee, if it causes such overwhelm? With wit as sharp as Valyrian steel, In every debate, you wheel and deal. You’d hate the title, detest being crowned, Yet who better than the Free Folks' most renowned? In councils loud with lesser wits galore, Your voice rings true above the roar. A savvy move here, a strategy there, Even Tyrion Lannister would stop and stare. One day soon I'll return to colder climes, and leave Jayne to prosecute the South’s egregious crimes. Fear not, for she will rule with might, “Tough but fair” through every plight. While I seek peace in the North's embrace, You’ll keep those Kneelers in their place. Though throne and crown are not your style, You’d govern always with grace and guile. So here’s to Jayne, wise and true, The Iron Throne awaits for you. All hail, Princess Jayne ! |

| We're about halfway through "Game of Thrones" and it's been a wild ride so far. I really enjoy multi-part challenges, and the strategy involved in succeeding in this activity is next-level. There are so many things to do, it's easy to get lost in the weeds if you don't pay close attention and work well with your team. Thankfully, I've got the best team around! The bond I have with my fellow Free Folk is my favorite part of the game so far; their commitment to following all the crazy ideas I have (and even trying some of their own!) has been so much fun. I'm really glad that Gaby ~ Counting GoT Numbers  decided to dust off this activity and run it again. |
| I have successfully completed Door #5 in "Game of Thrones" ! What does that mean? It means I still have 16 doors left to go before the end of the month...  As the King-Beyond-the-Wall of the Free Folk, our sacred mission is to overcome all those Kneelers south of the wall, huddling together in their petty little Houses. The Free Folk currently have zero cheers in the main "Game of Thrones" forum, so we're scraping our points together the old fashioned way. In the words of Monty Python: Our chief weapon is surprise! Surprise and fear. Our two weapons are fear and surprise... and ruthless efficiency! Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency... and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope!" Okay, well, maybe not that last one...  Come to think of it, that scene pretty much sums up Jeremy | 21 Years On WDC  and Jayne and me and our entire interaction with this Game of Thrones so far.  You know, cheers might not be such a bad idea after all...   |
