I couldn't pick a better color. That particular shade of green was so me, it spoke, crying out to be taken and tied into a complicated knot that would become a shawl. I didn't even mind the fact that it was nearly thirty-five dollars a skein. Wait a minute, what was I saying. I definitely minded that it was so expensive. In fact, I hated the color. Green made my face break out in hives from the reflected contact. I was going to work for months with green?
It was no use. I had to have to yarn. With a sigh, I pulled out my credit card and walked up to the counter. Silk and angora and a hint of mohair. In laceweight, so at least it was going to be a long skein. Sometimes when I worked with a bulky, it felt as though I was starting a new end every other stitch.
Knitting wasn't where I thought I'd go with this, but at least I didn't paint my room green. That would have been too complicated to deal with . . . and that's five.
