I'm studying Persuasion for literature. Anyone got any cool interpretations for me? Favourite quotes?

Does anyone else think Mr.Elliots get a bad rap? I mean, yes, he was slightly manipulative and scheming, but apart from that he was a pretty good candidate for a husband. And at least he knew he was being an jerk, unlike Captian "Nutty" Wentworth.
