Writing Hurts: Review Forum

Hi, Edgework.

I'm looking to submit this for publication in a local daily. It's about a most valuable person in my life, so I hope to get some valuable feedback, and who better to give it than you? It's about 1,600 words, hope to cut it down to 1,500 if possible, and clarify anything that's vague. A few instances of local dialect usage are deliberate, and the audience will understand them.
