I'm glad you are working with your doctor. I was diagnosed with adult onset the beginning of this year. I started out with Metformin once a day, now I am up to three times a day. So far, I'm not on insulin. I agree with you about the Metformin, as I have "tummy troubles" with it as well. I am not as active as I should be, and I don't have the other physical worries that you have.
Suggestion...perhaps doing arm curls and shoulder shrugs to at least get a little movement. You can also do waist twists if you have a swivel chair. For your legs, if you cannot do leg lifts, you can at least start with heel raises (feet flat on floor and raise heels, then lower) and foot flexing and pointing.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope that you and your doctor can come up with the "tweaking" necessary to get your sugars under control.
I'll be glad to be a shoulder to cry on, or a cheerleader to cheer you on.
