See, you learn something new everyday! Although I might have spelled it "Jane-ettes" LOL. But I am starting to appreciate the world of Jane Austen. Not only did she write stories, she also wrote poetry. She truly was a gifted "logophile" (lover of words).
I got my start in the world of Jane Austen with the movie Sense and Sensibility, with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. I found this movie entertaining and cannot fathom the snobbery of such a world...I am sure there is snobbery like it nowadays, I just haven't been the subject of it. Unrequited love? In grade school, I had a terrible crush on a boy, but it wasn't returned. I loved from "afar"...sigh
Anyway, I have been delving into the world of Jane's movies that are on Netflix. I really enjoyed Death Comes to Pemberly. I also enjoyed Pride and Prejudice...although I wanted to strangle Elizabeth's family! LOL.
I am hoping to soon add the books to my bookshelf, as it has been my experience books are so much better than the movies.
