This was a hard one! I don't often (ever?) write virtuous characters. Even when they possess admirable qualities, they usually have another side as despicable as the good qualities are good. To be honest, good qualities alone bore me. I'm drawn to conflicted characters. I enjoy writing thieves, murderers, adulterers, etc.

In my previous entries, I already showed a little of the conflicting virtues in my story's MC, so I created the Roach, who might “work” in the same time period within the nearest city to Sean, Gervais, and Diane and consider their rural setting an escape.

Too many ideas; not enough time to develop them all.
